Help collect native seeds in Shenandoah National Park with our friends at Appalachian Conservation Corps.
9:30am - 2pm, Harry F. Byrd, Sr. Visitor Center
All ages welcome.
This is a free volunteer event in Shenandoah National Park. Snacks and beverages will be provided, and maybe a few prizes for participation. For more information or to register, please email Darby Reed at dreed@conservationlegacy.org.

Participate in a trail work day in Ramseys Draft Wilderness with our friends at Southern Appalachian Wilderness Stewards (SAWS).
9am - 2pm, Mountain House Picnic Area on Rt. 250
Beginners are welcome. Training and tools will be provided.
They will meet at Churchville TasteeFreez behind the bank at 8:30 a.m. or at Mountain House Picnic Area (upper parking lot) at 9:00 a.m. They will clip back vegetation and remove blowdowns on Ramseys Draft Trail.  This popular trail has gotten badly overgrown this summer with all the wet weather.  They will start at Mountain House Picnic Area on Rt. 250 and work as far as we can and will stop working around 2:00 p.m. This is a Wilderness area, so they will be using hand tools.   If you have loppers, shears, hand clippers, or a small saw, bring it.  Bring a hard hat if you have one, gloves, and eye protection. They will bring extra hard hats and tools:  Corona saws, loppers, shears, and hand clippers.  Wear long pants, sturdy closed-toe shoes and bring water, food, and a raincoat.
We will have some stream crossings, but the water is currently very low.  The crossings should be easy if these conditions continue.
Contact Joshua Tao the SAWS Wilderness Specialist at jtao@wildernessstewards.org to RSVP and with any questions.
