​​The Virginia Wilderness Committee is a small, non-profit organization. We operate with few staff persons and a crew of dedicated volunteers. After successful enactment of the Ridge and Valley Act in 2009, we now focus our efforts on the most special wild areas on the George Washington National Forest, including Shenandoah Mountain, Beech Lick Knob, and Lower Cowpasture. We are making steady progress, but we need your support.

Members receive communication alerts for events, hikes, seminars, and volunteer opportunities right here in Virginia! In addition, Sustaining Members and Champions receive free VWC wall calendars and other perks.
