Virginia Wilderness Committee is a small not-for-profit organization. We operate on a shoestring and need your support - financial and otherwise! To help permanently protect the best wild places in Virginia, make a donation and/or join our organization [1].
Write to your Government Representatives
Another way to help secure congressional wilderness designation for outstanding natural areas in Virginia is to write or email your federal representatives and let them know you are in favor of wilderness. Ask them to vote in favor of land and wildlife protection measures across the US, and ask them to support additional land protection in the George Washington National Forest. Convenient contact information for all of Virginia's representatives is listed below.
Get Involved in Virginia with the Advocate Toolbox from Virginia Conservation Network (VCN)
Our friends at VCN have put together a Citizen Advocacy Toolbox [2]. The Toolbox is designed to provide easy-to-use information on how to contact lawmakers as well as tips for effective citizen advocacy. You can start standing up for environmental issues today and provide Virginia's environment the voice it needs in government.
