Draft plan proposes disappointing wilderness recommendations
The George Washington National Forest has released its Draft Management Plan and is holding public meetings to invite comment and conversation regarding the Draft. Plan to attend an upcoming meeting: June 30 (Lexington), July 12 (Baker, WV), July 18 (Verona), July 27 (Hot Springs). Meetings have already been held in Fairfax and Woodstock. The draft plan proposes only one new wilderness area, and three additions to existing wilderness. See our most recent newsletter for more information.
